Initiatives for
As the national authority for Cybersecurity the CCB has developed several initiatives for specific publics which are presented here.
The Cyber Threat Research & Intelligence Sharing (CyTRIS) department provides various services. CyTRIS is responsible for initial contact with organisations reporting an incident to the CCB. It monitors various sources daily, collects and collates information that may be useful to warn potential victims, and does in-depth CTI analysis and strategic reporting. CyTRIS also sends spear warnings (individual messages) to organisations that have a particular vulnerability detected on its IT infrastructure, has been compromised with malware, or whose stolen login credentials have been found. CyTRIS organises webinars on a regular basis.
The following organisations can call on services from CyTRIS:
+32 (0)2 501 05 60 (emergency number, only for urgent assistance in case of incidents)
The CCB can be contacted by e-mail (info@ccb.belgium.be) during office hours (09.30 to 16.30) from Monday to Friday, except for official public holidays.
The receipt of mails is automatically acknowledged within minutes. This automatic system provides a unique case number to each report. This does not mean that the CCB will reply to every mail; further response depends on the severity of the incident and the capacity of the correspondent.
In cooperation with the National Crisis Centre (NCCN) of the Ministry of the Interior, the CCB can be reached by telephone 24/7 to handle emergencies for providers of essential services and critical infrastructure.
What is it?
The EWS includes the information exchange platforms of the Belgian CSIRT. CyTRIS is responsible for the operational communication and information exchange with other national CSIRT. CyTRIS also provides the "Spear Warning" procedure. A "Spear Warning" is an individual warning about an infection or vulnerability sent to organisations.
The QCTR organised by CyTRIS, bring together different stakeholders and consultation platforms at least once a quarter to inform participants about active cyber threats. At the QCTR event, the operation of the Early Warning System (EWS) is also discussed. Through this platform, the CyTRIS team sends pertinent and analyzed threat information to national security agencies, Vital Interest Organisations, sectoral authorities, and other partners.
The QCTR is also offered as a webinar and is open to anyone, worldwide
The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) is recruiting new profiles.
