Cybersecurity education in Belgium
Education and training
Cybersecurity education is essential to developing a skilled workforce capable of addressing today’s evolving cyber threats. Higher education institutions in Belgium play a key role in addressing this challenge by offering a growing number of cybersecurity programs and courses. These programs equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to strengthen Belgium’s cybersecurity resilience.
The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium collaborates with academic institutions and other stakeholders to support the growth of cybersecurity education and training. While the number of cybersecurity programs has increased in recent years, ongoing efforts in education, upskilling, and reskilling remain crucial to narrowing the cybersecurity skills gap. By promoting access to cybersecurity education, we contribute to building a skilled and resilient workforce for the future.

Requirements:
- The Master of Science in Cybersecurity is targeted to master students with backgrounds in electrical engineering, computer science or mathematics. (Typically two out of three.)
- Students should have a genuine interest in cybersecurity areas, such as cryptography, software security, hardware security, system security, and privacy.
- Students will be trained to develop secure systems and services, and to integrate such controls to guarantee sufficient cyberdefenses.
