Consultation

Strengthening cyber security contributes directly to the competitiveness of the European market. That is and remains the primary objective of European regulation. At the same time, the rapid succession of new legislative frameworks has had the side effect of greatly increasing complexity for businesses and has led to heavy administrative burdens and significant compliance costs.

The challenge: improving legislative instruments

The challenge is therefore to realign legislative instruments with the original objective: increasing cybersecurity in a way that remains workable for businesses.

The EU has started a review of the Cybersecurity Act (CSA), with the aim, among other things, of exploiting opportunities to simplify cyber security regulations. This review offers an important opportunity to simplify European regulations, align them better and make them more workable for businesses.

Consultation

With this consultation, the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium wants to identify the main bottlenecks, which simplification opportunities deserve priority and which good practices can be scaled up at EU level.
