Miguel De Bruycker, Director General of the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium, wins Prestigious Cybersecurity Personality Award

The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium is very proud with the victory of its director, Miguel De Bruycker, at the recent presentation of the Cyber Security Personality Award 2023. This honourable recognition is a personal compliment to Miguel, but also a great moment for the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium and the entire Belgian cybersecurity landscape.

Miguel's career, spanning more than two decades, began as an officer in the ICT staff of the Ministry of Defence. His vision and efforts laid the foundation for the development of cyber defence in Belgium. From the beginning in 2001 until the creation of the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium in 2015, Miguel De Bruycker has influenced and strengthened the direction of Belgian cybersecurity policy.

Not only has Miguel influenced the national scene, but his impact extends far beyond Belgium's borders. His leadership has contributed to the recognition of the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium at both national and international levels, consistently ranking high in international cybersecurity rankings.

Miguel De Bruycker is the founder of pioneering initiatives for a more secure cyberspace

The Cybersecurity Personality Award is a well-deserved recognition of Miguel's contributions to the industry. He has moved more than one stone with pioneering initiatives such as Active Cyber Protection, suspicious@safeonweb.be, Spear Warning, the Belgian Anti Phishing Shield (BAPS), and Validated Services, all of which have helped strengthen Belgium's cybersecurity.

Miguel De Bruycker's recognition is not only a tribute to his commitment and vision, but also to the continued success of the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium.
