BeSafe campaign on securing connected home devices

In recent years, the number of connected objects has grown at an impressive rate (watches/wristbands, thermostats, washing machines, dishwashers, doorbells/lockers, hoovers, baby monitors...)
The list is long.
However we tend to forget that these connected devices or objects are not always risk-free. To prevent these risks, it is most of the time sufficient to adopt certain good habits or behaviours (see below) which the Safeonweb project has always aimed to promote.
One of the risks of these types of devices -- more particularly related to the protection of personal data -- concerns the security of your home (in particular, giving potential burglars certain information about your usage habits and therefore physical presence in a home).
This is why DG Security and Prevention of the FPS Interior wishes to raise awareness among citizens to adopt simple gestures to protect themselves against this type of risk.

- Carry out all device updates according to the manufacturer's recommendations (this is sometimes not enough but it is the minimum);

- Do not transmit your private data (can be used elsewhere and in other contexts) (see https://www.safeonweb.be/en/my-data-has-been-stolen);
