The CCB is proud to launch #HackTheGovernment2025, the second edition of its national initiative inviting ethical hackers to help safeguard Belgium's federal public services' IT infrastructure.

From 12 to 26 November 2025, participants will compete to identify and responsibly report vulnerabilities in selected government systems (targets include the CCB itself, the Defense Department, FPS BOSA, etc.), under the coordination of the CCB. Over two weeks, this unique collaboration between public institutions and the cybersecurity community aims to strengthen digital resilience and promote responsible hacking in the public interest.

The CCB views collaboration with the ethical-hacking community as a critical strategy for enhancing public sector digital resilience. By creating an inclusive platform that welcomes both emerging cybersecurity talents and seasoned experts, the initiative transforms cybersecurity from an isolated technical challenge into a comprehensive national responsibility.

Encouraging responsible hacking for the common good

This year's edition emphasizes the growing value of Belgium's ethical-hacking community, particularly among young cybersecurity talents eager to test and develop their skills responsibly. All findings will be handled under coordinated vulnerability disclosure principles, ensuring any identified issues are swiftly addressed by the relevant public services.

Recognition and community spirit

Beyond rewards, the initiative underscores the shared responsibility of keeping Belgium's digital infrastructure secure through openness, collaboration, and trust.
