European Cybersecurity Competence Centre officially opens permanent offices
On 30 October, the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) inaugurated its permanent headquarters in Bucharest, Romania.
The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) has officially opened the doors to its permanent headquarters, marking a significant milestone in the EU's efforts to enhance strategic autonomy in cybersecurity and strengthen critical infrastructure protection. The new facility will serve as the central hub for the Centre's multifaceted mission.
Established with the goal of boosting the competitiveness of European industry, SMEs, and startups on the global stage, the ECCC supports innovation and industrial policy in cybersecurity. Since its inception, the Centre has invested over €600 million in projects across the EU, with an additional €400 million expected by 2027 through the Digital Europe and Horizon Europe programmes.
The relocation to the dedicated headquarters completes the process of the ECCC achieving full autonomy, solidifying its position as a coordinating entity for EU-wide cybersecurity initiatives.
