ICT security education in Belgium
The CCB aims to increase the knowledge of cybersecurity in Belgium. Education, university research and teaching play an important role in this. Our aim is to increase awareness of cybersecurity by encouraging academic institutions to expand their range of courses on cybersecurity and related topics. The CCB is currently working on a training and research programme to ensure that Belgium remains a competitive knowledge economy and that its digital autonomy in terms of cybersecurity is strengthened. This can only be achieved with a solid knowledge base on cybersecurity and cyber threats, not only in the academic sector, but also in the public and private sectors. The initiative will focus in particular on stimulating and supporting cybersecurity research and education, thereby increasing the number of qualified cybersecurity professionals and closing the skills gap in this area.
